Waiting for the nightshift. Acrylic on canvas, 16x20"

16x20", acrylic

This is the entry of a building complex in London, which I passed by chance late one night. I was attracted by the the light, which together with the walls created an almost abstract composition, with an interplay of spatial planes that reminded me of a Mondrian.

The night shift guard was not at their desk, but I could imagine that whilst sitting there, alone in the building, you might wonder if someone was watching you from the outside, even though you couldn't see them out there in the dark.
